Miscellaneous Diecast Section

Two more sections have been added to the new MISCELLANEOUS DIECAST section. (Remember, you get to it by clicking on the image at the bottom left corner of my home page.)

I've added a section for the Matchbox Collectors Community Hall with pictures of the show models from the last 3 Gathering of Friends events in Albuquerque. Also added a section for the Kemlows Sentry Box series of military models.

Miscellaneous Diecast Section

It's hard not to collect most anything vintage and/or diecast. So I've run across various items, some Matchbox related, some not, that just have to be a part of my collection. To show these off I've created a new MISCELLANEOUS DIECAST section. You can get to it by clicking on the image at the bottom left corner of my home page.

I've started the section with 1 existing page, the FANTA Matchbox Chinese models, along with 3 new sections; Matchbox Metal Minature Figures, Lledo Krispy Kreme Delivery Truck, and Russian "Military Technology" Models. And there's more to come!

New and Improved Roadways Pages

The Matchbox ROADWAYS pages have been revised to show a contents page for all the roadways in my collection as well as large scanned images of each of the roadway sleeves. I still need 3 more, 1A-1, 1B-1, and 3A-1 to complete my collection.

Coming soon, pictures of the unpunched roadways folded out and framed as 2x3 posters.

More Convoys!!

New big rigs have arrived; see the MacDonalds and YuGiOh (??) tractor trailers on my CONVOYS page.

Box Type "D" Collection Display

Spent the last few weekends organizing my Box Type "D" Collection Display. Pretty much all my "D" box variations are now on display. Still missing 4 tough ones:

  • 33A Ford Zodiac MKII Sedan
  • 53A Aston Martin DB2
  • 58A BEA Coach
  • 66A Citroen DS19
But I'm willing to make room for them!!
2005 1 to 75 Series

John Coyne, Felix, and the crew at Mattel have done a great job reviving the traditional 1 to 75 series with more realistic and playworthy models. Just need some headlight/tail light details and they'll be very nice. There are some gaudy ones I just can't bring myself to buy, like the Corvette C6, Lotus Elise, Merc Benz 280GT, Opel Frogster, Audi TT, BMW Z4 or any others with the huge tampos. But once they got the tampos figured out these turned out to be pretty nice cars for a buck. See a good portion of what I've purchsed on my new 2005 1 to 75 Series pages. The MB49 Ford GT is beautiful!!

New Pics

3 new SuperKing models, including the new aqua Mustang, are displayed on the SuperKings pages. Also new are the bronze '71 Dodge Challenger and the blue Olds 442.

Chinese FANTA Models

8 Matchbox Fanta models were available only in China in 1998. 6 of the models are pictured on my new CHINESE FANTA MODELS page. I am missing the London Bus and Jeep Cherokee models; if you know of any available at a reasonable price, please let me know.

Toyroom

I've added some "Magic Box" display room to the back of a closet door in the toyroom. This allowed me to reconfigure the SouthWest corner. From left to right you first will see my Vintage SuperFast "G" boxes, additional variations, military models, and Chinese models. Then my "F" Box Display which has been there for some time now. Moving around the corner past the door we come to my first "C" Box Display which is continued at the top of the side of the cabinet. And then finishing up with the rest of that display with my Budgies!! Worked out quite well I think.

Eccles Caravan Variations

9 variations of the MB57-B Eccles Caravan as listed in the 3rd Edition of Charlie Mack's Encyclopedia of Matchbox Toys are display on the MB57B Eccles Trailer Caravan Extra Information page. Took me forever to locate variation #8. And thanks to Christian, I now know of 3 more undocumented variations I still need to get. :(

SuperKings are Back!!

4 new SuperKing models, including the silver '71 Dodge Challenger, are displayed on the new SuperKings pages. Just ordered are the aqua Mustang, the blue 442, and the bronze Challenger. And stay tuned for an El Camino and VW Bus to be released later this year.

Box Type "E" Collection Display

Have finally filled the display cases with boxes for all the models and models for all the boxes in my Box Type "E" Collection Display. Only box missing is the elusive 34B Volkswagen Camper which typically goes for a cool $1200 to $1500. So if you see one for $600 or less, please let me know!!
